5 Reasons Why I Love China
Do you love China? If so, head over to the ‘Why Do You Love China?‘ group writing project and write a post about why you love (or at least like) China soon.
5 Reasons Why I Love China
- Absolutely Breathtaking Destinations - China boasts some of the most beautiful travel destinations in the world. Don’t think so? Check out the video above.
- Chance to Learn Many New Things - Once you get out of the big coastal cities, you discover that China is a very diverse country. In addition to the 55 officially recognized ‘dialects’ (read: different languages), there are many cultures & traditions that remain to be discovered for the outside traveler. For the true scholar of history, languages, or culture, China presents dozens of lifetimes worth of learning opportunities… even if much of what was is no longer.
- Streetsmart People in the Cities - A smart Chinese person is probably harder to cheat or con than anyone in the world. And thanks to living in China, I know no one will ever be able to con me.
- Low Cost of Traveling - What could be better than not having to spend much money (as long as you don’t stay in expensive hotels and eat only the best of food) to see the sights of China, learn from China, and meet the people of China? Not everyone can afford long trips in Europe - but many can in China. Life-changing, perspective-shattering (perspective on your life, values, and own country as much as on your former perceptions of China), adventure-filled trips.
- My Girlfriend (+ most of her family) & Friends - Okay, this one is a little more personal - but it’s the people that make any place. And it’s the people I’ve fallen in love with, befriended, and come to know well that have made my time in China worthwhile.
So why do YOU love China?

I’m realizing now, I’ve read this
haha. Regardless, good read the second time as well. And, like yourself, one of my biggest reasons for loving China is the most important person in my life is Chinese - it’s hard for that to not warm you to a place, even if some other bits rub ya raw.

I love China video.
After watching that Welcome to China video I felt so angry. I have lived in China since 1997 and have traveled extensively while here. I never see all those happy Chinese people. A more realistic video would show crippled people hobbling along the road, homeless people sleeping outside in Harbin in the winter cold, children beggars, and dead bodies lying in the streets after being run down by crazy drivers. Those are the images I see in China everyday.
Born and raised in China for 12 years, I came to USA, and I definitly have a lot of reasons to love china n_n
I love its rich culture, creative ideas, and like you mentioned, beautiful places (since it does have many geographic advantages and a rich history). China blood will forever be with me, I can not deny, for which have brought me proudness and honor.
Though it is true there are many unfair things in China can be observed, such as poverty, unequal oppertunities. However, China is still a developing country, and I believe in its potential. Most importantly, like a lot of Chinese who are away from our country, I will always stand by its side, and help China to become a better place.
To be honest, as much as I didn’t liked some things when I was in China, I did felt happier when I was living there. =)
I’m so happy to hear that you love China, too! Oh, only a few billion people share that opinion with you =D
Being Indian, I observed I get along very well with Chinese people even though our respective countries have little in common - one of my girlfriends at university was Chinese. China has so many admirable characteristics which would make it the world’s most respected superpower in coming few decades; I admire Chinese zeal for hard work, aesthetics and love for their own language. Unlike India, which is like a European Union with each state having its own language different from the other- China is able to unite the whole country under one language: Chinese. China is also making rapid strides in technology innovation; the next Bill Gates or Stephen Hawking is likely to come from China.
This is the coming-of-age for Sino- and other Asian nation; Western cultures will only have declining importance in coming few decades. In 30 years from now, all international opinions/mass media/literature/creativity will be centred around China. Noone can impede their progress.
I have deep respect for all East Asian cultures: Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Thai.
Will happy to hear people in USA says love china. The one reason i like china because i was in china 15 years, and i would want to come back one day with some one who i love. I love they language. china is one have more than 50 kind of languages. Also, i like they culture, food and many things. Any yes, some people mind will say chinese can not learn the true about they own country, or some thing bad. But i want to tell your chinese are learn the true from both contry speech.
I love China because it was an eye opening experience, I have traveled Europe, but nothing compares to 3000 years of a different culture, food, everything. I didn’t need to go, but it was the smartest trip I ever took!
Maybe reason No. 5 is not so personal after all. I don’t have a Chinese “significant other” (so far), but I have GREAT Chinese friends, that I didn’t and wouldn’t make in my own country in a million years.
Actually that’s my reason number 2. Number 1 for me goes for the fact that you are in a country with more than 3000 years of history and that you can learn so much every day.
